THE PROJECT
Apostoleas is a Hamilton-based interdisciplinary art collective built around creative call-and-response. Musicians, painters, technologists and designers work simultaneously, allowing sound, image, light and physical artwork to influence one another in real time. Live performances are captured, processed and projected back into the environment, turning the act of making into part of the work itself. The identity needed to reflect that sense of transmission, transformation and collaboration without becoming visually rigid.
THE CHALLENGE
Create an identity strong enough to make Apostoleas recognizable while representing a project that deliberately changes every time it is performed. The system needed to move between live performance, projection mapping, websites, posters, merchandise, social media, video, artist talks and documentation while accommodating different artists, venues and creative technologies.
THE APPROACH
Treat the brand as a flexible visual system rather than a fixed collection of assets. Strong typography, colour and graphic structure provide continuity, while motion, imagery, composition and application are allowed to shift with each transmission. The approach mirrors Apostoleas itself: establish a recognizable framework, then allow individual collaborators and media to change what happens inside it.
WHAT WE MADE
We developed the Apostoleas identity and extended it across digital and physical applications including the website, promotional and explainer posters, merchandise, social content, YouTube assets, video reels, motion graphics and large-scale projected visuals. Brand documentation was organized in Notion so the visual system, assets and guidance could evolve alongside the collective. The identity is designed to work both as a recognizable mark and as part of the immersive environments Apostoleas creates.
THE RESULT
A living visual system that can change form without losing recognition. The identity now connects Apostoleas across performances, installations, projection mapping, print, merchandise and online communications while reflecting the collective’s core idea: one artist’s output becoming another artist’s input.
